Around Austin-ACL Music Fest Norah Jones opened the late afternoon set with her composition "What Am I To You?" She was feeling it! Making for a masterful opening showcasing the heartful lyric, her voice, the band and improvising favorite jazz licks. She followed, with good appreciation, tracks from her latest album "Visions" including "All This Time", "Paradise", "Queen of the Sea", "I Just Want To Dance", and then played the past hit "Sunrise." It is noted that her husband Peter Remm, father of their two children, an accomplished muscian as well has encouraged her to learn more instruments. She played Fender Jazzmaster on more than a few of the newer tunes. She ended the show with the hits "Don't Know Why", "Happy Pills" and then brought on stage the "legendary harmonic player" Mickey Raphael for a tribute to Kris Kristofferson with his "Help Me Make It Through The Night." With both "Don't Know Why" and "Happy Pills" Norah did extended jazz introductions that delighted and highlighted her towering strength on the keys. The crowd, heavily laced with Blink 182 fans (8PM Set) and with her longtime fans, was impressed and appreciative.
