According to "Austin Business Journal" (October 21-27, 2022 Issue ppA10) "The Austin area is expected to have the second fastest growing economy in the U.S. in 2022, trailing only San Francisco." Central Texas is on pace for 4.3% growth which is greater than the prior average of 3%. Austin's GDP for 2022 will be about $216 Billion accounting for nearly 1% of the American GDP. Austin ranks 28th in population and 22nd in economy.
