Texas High School Basketball-Tied at 52-52 with 7.72 left Johnson scored two in the lane at the buzzer. Score by Quarter 9-17, 28-21, 41-35, 52-54. Johnson scored at will while Westlake had cold shooting in the first quarter being outscored 9-17. Westlake picked up the pace outscoring Johnson 19-2 in the second quarter to lead at the half 28-21. Both teams came out early for shoot-arounds reflecting a very competitive game by well-matched rivals. The third quarter was about even with Johnson prevailing 13-12 to end the third quarter trailing 35-41. In the last frame Johnson outscored Westlake 19-11 dominating early but with Westlake battling back late only to be matched by Johnson. The game was tied at 3:48 remaining 44-44 then #23 Donovan Lee scored a three at 3:08 and at 1:58 but in both instances Johnson immediately responded with clutch threes as well leaving the match tied at 50-50 with 1:47 remaining. Johnson went up by 2 at 1:06 and Gavin Paull evened the score at 52-52 going to the rack on the right.
