Around Austin-Westlake hosted Dripping Springs Friday Night October 13th 2023. Above Kyle Koch scored the Tiger's second and last score of the game at 7:01 in Q2 on 3rd and one. In this play Westlake was completely fooled when Dripping Springs set up for a keeper and Kock, a WR, was alone for an easy TD pass from Maddox Maher. Football Chaps trailed at half 7-14 but prevailed 27-14 as they held the Tigers scoreless in the second half. The game featured an early 71 yard TD by Dripping Springs' Jack Tyndall giving the Tigers an early 7-0 lead. Tyndall racked up big yards as clearly the strongest running back Westlake faced so far in 2023. Notable Westlake blocked two punts one being a scoop and score late and the earlier block contributed to a TD drive. The Chaps 7-0 will likely win district and Dripping Springs and Lake Travis will battle for second place.
