Nashville-based Southern Land Company LLC has purchased 70 acres in Dripping Springs, at the end of Silver Creek Road, with the intention to build 28 luxury homes each on 1.5-2 acre lots. Dan Hutts (Southern Land Company) said early days but prices will “likely start in the $1.5 million range.” The firm’s own “construction arm will build the houses” working with its own “planning, design, and marketing divisions” and “will likely collaborate with local firms” when appropriate. This developmental process was initiated before Dripping Springs imposed a building moratorium over concerns related to wastewater capacity. Site infrastructure work could start as early as September 2022. Brian Sewell (COO of Southern Land Company) commented “‘We really love the terrain, we love Hill Country views, we love the lifestyle, and the overall demographics of Dripping Springs, the proximity to Austin, the amenities, It’s a natural fit for us.’”
