Japan-all new cars to be “eco-friendly” by the mid-2030s and “The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is considering a goal of abolishing new sales of conventional cars” (Those 100% Internal Combustion). The Japanese target is 2050 to be zero-emissions. The government will announce detailed measures after consulting with “experts and car industry executives.” As of 2018, vehicles contributed 16% of emissions with “planes, ships and trains combined” accounting for about 3%.
