David Huff. Male Northern Flicker.

Northern Flicker is a medium-sized bird of the woodpecker family. Native to most of North America, parts of Central America, Cuba and the Cayman Islands, and is one of the few woodpecker species that migrate. Diet consists of insects-ants and beetles that they gather from the ground but also eat seeds and fruit. Flickers often go after ants underground for larvae by hammering through the soil.
